This is the upper end of the lock. The remainder is filled as below.
Ahead, 10 miles of water canal summit level extends to Lock 1 north, Akron
Just south of here, the canal crosses Snyder Ave. (Hudson Run Rd.) and then Wolf Run. Originally, the current Wolf Run crossing was a canal feeder and Wolf Run flowed over a dam next to the canal and then under an aqueduct further south. This aqueduct still exists and is the only concrete aqueduct in Ohio.
