Looking upstream
This is the upper most lock on the river and was built by the Corps of Engineers in concrete to replace an earlier lock located further up river. These locks extended navigation to Dresden, the beginning of the Dresden Side Cut of the Ohio & Erie Canal.
At present, this lock is out of service, but boat launch ramps are on the site.
