Lehigh Canal
Causeway from Island Park
View east towards the island.
West of Dam 8, the towpath crossed from Island Park (an island in the river that once had a trolley served amusement park and is now a wildlife sanctuary, to the north bank of the river on a wooden causeway built on stone filled cribs. These cribs have now rotted away as have the bridges between them, but the piles of rock are apparent by the brush caught on them.
